🔔 Overview
The Inspect Point iOS app sends push notifications to keep technicians informed about important updates to their scheduled work, building notes, and inspections requiring corrections.
There are three types of push notifications available:
- Job Assigned or Changed: Notifications when an inspection or service visit is assigned, rescheduled, or removed.
- New Building Notes: Notifications when a new note is added to a building with an upcoming scheduled visit.
- Inspections Sent Back: Notifications when the office returns an inspection with items requiring correction(Inspection Assistant required for this notification).
Each notification can be tapped to open the relevant information directly in the Inspect Point iOS app.
This article explains when each notification is sent, what information is included, and what to expect when opening it.
📱 Push Notification Types at a Glance
| Notification Type | When It's Sent | What Opens |
|---|---|---|
| Job Assigned or Changed | An inspection or service visit for today or tomorrow is assigned, moved, or removed. | The relevant visit |
| New Building Note | A note is added to a building where the technician has a visit scheduled for today or tomorrow. | The building's notes |

Note: On Fridays, schedule change and building note notifications extend through Monday. Inspections sent back for corrections are not limited to this scheduling window.
📅 Job Assigned or Changed
Technicians receive push notifications when an inspection or service visit is assigned, rescheduled, or removed from their upcoming schedule.
What to Expect
Notifications are sent a few minutes after a scheduling change. If multiple visits are updated within that time, the changes are combined into a single notification to avoid sending multiple alerts.
Common Notifications Include:
- New Job Today: A new visit has been scheduled for today.
- New Job Tomorrow: A new visit has been scheduled tomorrow.
- Job Time Changed Today: A visit remains scheduled for the same day but has a new time.
- Job Removed from Today: A visit is removed from the technician's schedule for that day.
Changes to visits scheduled beyond this window do not trigger push notifications.
What Information Is Included?
The notification identifies the scheduling change and includes relevant visit information, such as the building name and updated visit time or date.
📝 New Building Notes
Technicians receive push notifications when someone in the office adds a note to a building where they have an inspection or service visit scheduled.
What to Expect
The notification displays the building name and the person who added the note.
For security purposes, the notification does not display the note's contents, as building notes may contain sensitive information such as gate codes, lockbox combinations, or alarm codes.
Additional Details:
- Multiple notes added to the same building within a short period are combined into a single notification.
- Technicians do not receive notifications for notes they create themselves.
🔄 Inspection Sent Back
Technicians receive push notifications when an inspection is sent back for correction through the AI Inspection Assistant.
Important: This notification is only available for companies with the AI Inspection Assistant enabled.
What Information Is Included?
The notification displays:
- Inspection Sent Back: The name of the building associated with the inspection.
- Issues to Correct: The number of items requiring correction.
When Are Notifications Sent?
A notification is sent when the office returns an inspection to a technician with items that need to be reviewed or corrected.
- Notifications are sent only to the technician the inspection was returned to.
- Notifications are sent regardless of when the inspection was originally completed.
- Unlike schedule changes and building notes, these notifications are not limited to inspections scheduled for today or tomorrow.
What Happens When You Open the Notification?
Tap the notification to open the AI Inspection Assistant review screen for the inspection, where you can view the list of issues requiring correction and take the necessary action.
