Goal of the Mobile App Updates
The goal of this feature is to provide technicians with a quick and clear overview of their assignments for the day. By focusing only on relevant tasks, technicians can stay on track without being overwhelmed by unrelated visits.
Detailed Expected Behavior
Priority Section
The priority section highlights important items that require immediate attention. This section only appears if there are priority items. The following three types of priority items may appear, in hierarchical order:
- Back Office User Marked as Priority (COMING SOON)
- A scheduler mechanism allows back-office users to flag visits as priority.
- Recording Time
- Displays when an active timer is running. Tapping on this card opens the time recorder, and technicians can manage their time from this page.
- Inspection Overdue
- If an inspection is past due, it remains in the priority carousel until completed or removed from the schedule.
You can dismiss individual priority items by tapping the ‘X’ on the top of the card. If multiple items of the same type exist (ie multiple overdue inspections), tapping on a card will display a stack of those items, allowing the technician to view or remove individual visits.
Your Schedule for Today Section
This section provides you with an overview of their assigned tasks for the current day, along with their progress. Once a visit is completed, it moves to the completed section toward the top of the page, and the available actions update accordingly. From this section, technicians can:
- View their full schedule by tapping ‘view full schedule’. This will take you to the ‘Schedule’ tab.
- Review, continue, or start an inspection
- You can do this by tapping the action button on the far right hand side of the visit card. Please note that the icon will change based on whether you are starting, continuing, or reviewing an inspection
- View visit details
- you can view the visit details by tapping on the visit or by tapping on the ‘…’ menu and tapping ‘visit details’.
- if you use the ‘…’ option, it will open the visit in the jobs page
- you can view the visit details by tapping on the visit or by tapping on the ‘…’ menu and tapping ‘visit details’.
- View visit location on a map
- you can access this option by tapping on the ‘…’ menu and tapping ‘view on map’.
- Record time.
- you can access this option by tapping on the ‘…’ menu and tapping ‘record time’.
- Delete a visit (if permissions allow).
- you can access this option by tapping on the ‘…’ menu and tapping ‘delete inspection’.
Each visit card displays the visit status, scheduled time, visit type, and building details to ensure clarity for the technician.
NOTE: If you have open visits from previous days that do not have subsequent visits scheduled for the current day, those visits will not display on your home page, but they will show on your schedule page.
Schedule Overview
Technicians can view their schedule in multiple formats, with the default being a scrollable list view. Additional viewing options include:
- Calendar View (opens an iframe of the technician portal).
- Map View (opens the existing map view).
You can access these options by tapping on ‘List view’ on the top right hand corner of the schedule page.
The schedule list view displays only today’s and future visits. Technicians can access past visits by tapping on ‘past visits’ and searching for a specific visit.
Each visit card on the schedule page allows technicians to perform the same actions as those available on the home page.
Technicians can search and filter for visits directly from the list view but not from the calendar or map view screens.
Available filters:
- due date
- schedule date
- status
- visit type
You can use a combination of filters and search in order to find the visit you are looking for.
Jobs
The Jobs tab is where technicians will go to do their work. This tab is functionally identical to what the Inspect Point app was before the additional layout changes. You can use this tab as you normally would use Inspect Point, and the way that visits are displayed has not changed. You can use this page work as you have worked in Inspect Point in the past.
