How to setup your Socket Mobile device

Beginning by opening the App Store and searching for Socket Mobile Companion

Tap Get next to the app icon

>>> A popup box will appear

Tap Install

>>> A progress tracker will appear next to the app icon

Once installed, close the App Store and locate the Socket Mobile Companion icon 

Tap the Socket Mobile Companion app icon

>>> The app will now load and open. Grab your Socket Mobile device

The Socket Mobile Companion app will walk you through the setup process

Once loaded, tap Continue

Make sure you have you Socket Mobile device handy and fully charged

Tap Setup

On your Socket Mobile device press and hold the power button until the scanner comes on. Once turned on, tap Next

Navigate to the Setting icon and make sure the Bluetooth setting is turned OFF. Once off, tap Next

Print the following document (Socket Mobile Barcode Barcode Set Up attached below), and scan the barcode #1 from the printed sheet using the Socket Mobile device (you will hear a confirmation tone and the scanner will automatically turn off). Once scanned, click Next

Press and hold the power button again to turn on the Socket Mobile device. Once on, tap Next

Using the Socket Mobile device, scan barcode #2 from the printed sheet (you will hear a confirmation tone when scanned). Once scanned, click Next

Navigate to the Setting icon and turn Bluetooth on. 

>>>When you see the Socket Mobile listed, tap the device, then tap the "i" icon until you see Connected listed next to the device (This may take some time - be patient) 

When you see Connected, navigate back to the Socket Mobile Companion app and tap Next

>>>The app will now attempt to detect the scanner

>>> Once detected, you will see the confirmation screen with information regarding your Socket Mobile device

Tap Yes at the bottom of the screen

>>> You will now see a Thank You screen

Tap Yes to take a quick survey or No to continue the setup

>>> Once done with the survey, if applicable, you will see the Scanner Information screen

Tap Test Scanner

Scan the third barcode on the printout with your Socket Mobile scanner

Your Socket Mobile is now set up!

Now, navigate to your Inspect Point app and tap the "i" icon, followed by Settings

>>> You will now see that the Socket Mobile is not enabled

Tap the toggle, next the Enable Socket Mobile

>>> It will turn green

Tap Save in the upper right corner of the screen

>>> You will now see the scanner enabled and battery life

Your Socket Mobile is now set up and synced with Inspect Point!
