Viewing Past Inspection Reports on Mobile

Technicians rely on past inspection reports to understand historical conditions, verify recurring issues, and ensure consistency year over year. To improve visibility into prior inspections—especially when multiple inspection frequencies are used—Inspect Point has enhanced how past reports are displayed in the mobile app.

This ensures technicians can access relevant historical reports, even when more frequent inspections (like monthly visits) occur between annual inspections.

🔄 What Changed?

Previously, the mobile app displayed only the last 5 generated inspection reports, regardless of inspection type or frequency.

This caused issues when:

• Monthly inspections were performed between annual inspections
• Annual inspection reports were pushed out of view
• Technicians could not easily reference last year's annual findings

✅ New Report Visibility Logic

Inspect Point now displays up to 10 past inspection reports on mobile, using a smarter retrieval approach:

• The last 2 reports of the same inspection frequency
• The 8 most recent reports from any frequency

This ensures technicians can always see relevant prior inspections—such as the previous annual—even if multiple monthlies were completed afterward.

Example Scenario: 

Before the update:

• A building has monthly and annual inspections
• Five monthly inspections are completed after the last annual
• The technician only sees those five monthly reports
• The prior annual inspection is not visible

After the update:

• The technician sees:
  • The last annual inspection
  • The most recent monthly inspections

📍 Where Technicians See These Reports

On the mobile app, technicians can view past reports from the Visit Detail screen under Past Inspection Reports. This list now reflects the expanded and frequency-aware report history.

⚙️ Customizing Report Display Names (Backend)

Backend users can control how inspection reports are labeled in the mobile app.

To update the report display name:

1. Go to Settings
2. Navigate to the Inspections section
3. Select Report Settings
4. Update the Inspection Report Display Name

Changes made here will directly affect what technicians see in the mobile app under Past Inspection Reports, making it easier to distinguish inspection types, frequencies, or dates at a glance.
