Inspect Point allows you to filter inspections on the mobile application by scheduled date and due date. Based on how close the due date is to today’s date, it will display in a different color, alerting you of its priority.
This article explains how to filter by scheduled and due date, apply sorting, and what the due date colors indicate.
When you first open the mobile application, you’ll notice two icons on the left side of the screen. The one on the left contains filters and sorting options for scheduled date and due date. The icon on the right lets you display inspections on a specific date.
In the picture above, no filters have been applied. We can tell because the two icons aren’t highlighted.
Filter by Scheduled Date
Tap on the filter icon to see the list of available filters.
To apply a filter for Scheduled Date, tap the Select Date button. You can input a range, like in the picture below, or choose only a start or end date.
Tap Save at the top of the screen to apply this filter.
On the home screen, the filter icon will now be highlighted, indicating the filters have been applied. A banner beneath the icon also explains what filters have been applied.
Looking at the inspection list confirms the filter - scheduled date between 9/10/23 and 9/19/23 - is correct.
Should you not want to filter by a range, the calendar icon on the home page lets you filter inspections by individual scheduled dates.
To do so, tap the calendar icon. This will open a modal allowing you to select the filtered date. The red dot indicates today’s date. Tap any date on the calendar, then the modal will close and the inspection list will be filtered to that date.
In our example above, 9/19 was selected. The filtered date appears blue in the modal, indicating it is an active filter. Behind the modal, we can see the filter was successful.
The banner explains our filter, and the inspection list only displays those with an scheduled date of 9/19.
To remove this filter, tap Clear Date at the top of the screen. The inspection list will then return to displaying all scheduled inspections.
Filter by Due Date
To filter by due date, return to the filter icon and tap the blue Show All button in the due date section.
Here, you can either display all inspections, or only those with a due date. Because due dates aren’t required in Inspect Point, but scheduled dates are, only showing inspections with due dates helps narrow down the list on the mobile application.
With this option selected, the list will now show inspections with a due date only.
You’ll notice the different colors on the due date icons in the picture above. When the icon is displayed in blue, the due date is 7+ days away; when it is gold, the due date is 4-7 days away; when it is red, the inspection is due in 3 days or less.
These colors help technicians quickly identify which inspections are due sooner than others.
Sorting Options
In addition to filtering by scheduled and due date, you can also sort the results. To do so, navigate to the bottom of the filters modal.
The default sorting options are to sort by scheduled date in ascending order, but they can be changed.
For example, if we sort by due date in descending order, and select Show All in the due date section, the inspection list will first display all inspections without a due date, followed by those with a red icon, then gold, then blue.
These combinations of filters and sorts allow you to take control of your home screen and complete inspections in a way that best suits your business.
