Please Note: To perform an inspection on the iPad, you first need to create the inspection with the necessary system(s), asset(s), fire alarm system(s), extinguisher group(s), fire doors group(s), etc., in the backend of Inspect Point. The frequency and system type indicated in the backend dictates what will be displayed to the technician on the iPad.
To start an inspection, locate the building in the "Scheduled" tab
>> Use the search tool to help locate the building, if necessary
Tap the building name
>>>NOTE: You will see the building details, a list of the systems and assets that need to be inspected, and contact information (if applicable)
Tap"Inspect" in the upper right corner of the screen
Click the form, system, or asset you'd like to start inspecting
>>>NOTE: It is up to you how you'd like to perform the inspection. You can work your way down the list, or jump between systems, assets, and forms depending upon the breakdown of the building
>>>NOTE: The inspection is broken into question sections and follows a YES/NO/NA format or Text Field answer format
>>>NOTE: To attach notes or photos, click the "Notes" button. Use the iPad camera to document with photos, and use the note fields to add internal and external notes. When done, press "Save"
>>> NOTE: Notes added to the "Notes" field are external (they can be dictated on newer iPad models) and will display on the final inspection report
When you are done with the form, tap Done
UPDATE: Tapping DONE now marks the section gray - indicating that you have answered the questions or completed the test.
>>> Repeat the inspection process above until you have inspected all required forms, systems, and assets
Once done with the entire inspection, click Review and Complete
Click Tech Signature
Use your finger to electronically sign the inspection. Then type your name using the key pad.
Click Client Signature and repeat the signature process above
When done collecting signatures, click Mark Complete
You will be asked to confirm your selection to the mark the inspection complete via a pop-up. Click YES to mark the inspection complete.
NOTE - the inspection has not been sent to the office yet or marked complete.
After you mark the inspection completed, you will be directed back to the inspection screen. From here, if you are connected to the internet or WiFi, click Send to Office. It is only after you hit this button that the inspection will be sent to the office and moved to the "Completed" tab. (If you are note connect to the internet or WiFi, simply wait until you have a connection to click the button "Send to Office")
