πΌοΈ Overview
By default, deficiency photos display at full size on generated inspection reports. When an inspection contains several deficiency photos, this can add significant length to the report.
The Show deficiency photos as thumbnails setting displays deficiency photos as smaller, clickable thumbnails instead. Anyone viewing the PDF can click a thumbnail to open the corresponding full-size photo.
This setting can be configured at the company, territory, or individual building level, allowing you to control the photo layout across your account or for specific locations.
βοΈ Set the Company Default
The company-level setting determines the default behavior for inspection reports unless it is overridden at the territory or building level.
Starting from the backend:
- Navigate to Settings β Report Settings under the Inspections section.
- Scroll to the Default Settings section.
- Locate Show deficiency photos as thumbnails.
- Toggle the setting on to display deficiency photos as clickable thumbnails.
- Click Save.
When the setting is off, deficiency photos will continue to use the standard full-size photo layout.
πΊοΈ Override the Setting for a Territory
The thumbnail deficiency photos setting can be overridden per territory.
- Navigate to Settings β Territories under the Company section.
- Locate the territory you want to update and select Edit.
- Expand the Report Settings section.
- Update Show deficiency photos as thumbnails to the desired setting.
- Save your changes.
The territory setting overrides the company default for buildings assigned to that territory.
π’ Override the Setting for a Building
You can also control how deficiency photos display on reports for an individual building.
When creating or editing the building:
- Starting from the Building Detail screen and click Edit.
- Expand the Advanced menu.
- Locate the 'Show deficiency photos as thumbnails' dropdown to change the building's setting.
- Save when finished.
π How Overrides Are Applied
When multiple settings are configured, Inspect Point uses the most specific setting available:
Building Override β Territory Override β Company Default
For example, if thumbnail photos are enabled as the company default but disabled for a territory, buildings in that territory will use the full-size photo layout. If an individual building within that territory is then set to Show Clickable Thumbnails, the building-level setting takes precedence.
