Inspect Point allows you to set a default Inspection Report Display Name. This naming convention will appear both in the backend and in the customer portal, and will help you more easily identify reports.
This article explains how to set your default Inspection Report Display Name, both at the company and building level, and how to view these reports in the customer portal afterwards. Let’s begin.
How to Set Your Inspection Report Display Name at the Company Level
Inspection Report Display Names follow a structure similar to Inspect Point’s tax hierarchy. That is, the default name will come from the company level unless one has been set at the building level. We will first explain how to set this default name at the company level.
To start, navigate to the Settings tab and click the Report Settings button.
Next, scroll down and you’ll see the Inspection Report Display Name section.
When you first arrive, the above will be entered in the text box by default. What this is saying is each report’s display name will be the Inspection System, followed by the Frequency, and/or the Inspection Date. An example of this styling is shown below:
Note: If multiple systems are inspected they will all appear in the display name. In this example, an extinguisher group and an e-light group were inspected, so both systems appear in the display name.
You can use the tags, e.g. {{ inspection_system }}, {{ frequency }}, or {{ inspection_date }} in any order and with any other words. For example, you could make the name:
Inspection Report: {{ frequency }} - {{ inspection _ system }} - {{ date }}
For the example above, this would generate the following report name:
Inspection Report: Annual - Extinguisher, E Lights - 2022/12/08
To change these settings, delete or add any of the three fields from the textbox and click Update.
How to Set Your Inspection Report Display Name at the Building Level
You may also set a default Inspection Report Display Name at the building level. This will override the formatting set at the company level.
To do so, navigate to your desired building and click the Edit Building button. Scroll down, and you’ll see the Inspection Report Display Name Override section.
Here, you can edit the name in the same fashion as the one at the company level. Click Save at the bottom of the screen to lock in these changes.
Now, when you generate a report from this building, the Display Name will use this structure.
Viewing Reports in the Customer Portal
