About Inspection Visits
Once you have created your inspection, you can add an inspection visit. There are two reasons to create an inspection visit:
- When a technician is going to be present at a building for only some part of the day, not the entire day, and you want this to reflect on the Calendar and Scheduler so you know their availability when scheduling other visits
- When you have multiple technicians assigned to a single inspection, and you want to block off the additional technician’s time on the Calendar and Scheduler.. Note: You must have the ability to add multiple technicians enabled in your instance to use this feature.
How to Add an Inspection Visit
Navigate to the page for your inspection, and scroll to the “Visits” section.
You will see a primary visit for the inspection in the “Visits” section.
If you would like to add an additional visit, press “Add Visit” to do so.
If your Inspect Point instance has the ability to assign multiple technicians to a single inspection enabled, you will be able to assign the visit to any technician.
However, if you do not have this function enabled, you will only be able to assign the visit to the technician to whom the inspection is assigned.
When adding a visit, you can select:
- Scheduled date
- Scheduled time
- Duration
Any visits added will show up on the Calendar and Scheduler as an event assigned to the technician, on the scheduled date, at the scheduled time, for the selected duration. Note that visits show up on the Calendar and Scheduler in addition to the primary inspection.
So, for example, if you added a visit to technician “John Doe” on January 1, 2022, at 10 AM ET for a duration of 2 hours, John Doe’s time would be blocked off on the Calendar at this date and time, for 2 hours.
Additional visits (either assigned to the original technician, or an additional one) can be edited or deleted as needed, by clicking on the pen or trash can icon). The primary visit, however, cannot be deleted. Any edits you make to the inspection scheduled date, time or duration will in turn update the primary visit.
