📅 Calendar Optimization Overview
Inspect Point includes a Calendar Optimization feature designed to improve calendar performance for high-volume instances with a large number of scheduled visits.
When enabled, the calendar loads and responds faster by limiting how many events display at once and loading additional details only when needed. This is especially helpful for organizations managing a high number of visits each month.
✨ What This Feature Does
When Calendar Optimization is enabled:
- The calendar loads faster for large schedules
- Month and week navigation feel more responsive
- Events move instantly when dragging and dropping visits
- Additional visit details load only when opening an event
- The month view limits how many events display per day cell
- A +N more option appears when additional events exist for that day
⚠️ IMPORTANT: This setting applies to the entire Inspect Point instance, not individual users.
⚙️ Enabling Calendar Optimization
To enable Calendar Optimization:
- Backend Settings → Company → Calendar Settings
- Enable the Calendar Optimization toggle
- Changes save automatically
Once enabled, you can configure the following settings:
- Month View Max Visits — Maximum visits loaded for the month view date range
- Week View Max Visits — Maximum visits loaded for the week view date range
- Month View Max Events Per Day — Maximum number of events shown directly in each calendar day cell before additional events are hidden behind a +N more link
👀 Understanding the "+N More" Option
When the number of visits for a day exceeds the configured display limit, the calendar shows only the allowed number of events directly in the cell.
Additional visits are grouped behind a +N more option.
Example:
- Month View Max Events Per Day is set to
5 - A day contains
12visits
The Calendar Displays:
- The first
5visits - A +7 more option to view the remaining visits
Selecting +N more opens a pop-up showing the additional events for that day.
This is especially useful for organizations with a large number of pending visits scheduled on the first day of the month or other high-volume scheduling periods.
⚡ Additional Information
Drag-and-Drop Improvements
When moving or resizing a calendar event:
- The calendar no longer waits for the server response before updating the display
- If the update cannot be saved, the visit automatically returns to its original position
Progressive Loading
To improve performance:
- Visits load first
- Time-offs, holidays, and generic calendar events load shortly afterward
- Adjacent calendar ranges are pre-loaded in the background for faster navigation between weeks and months
🔙 Disabling Calendar Optimization
If you prefer the previous calendar behavior:
- Return to Settings Company Calendar Settings
- Disable the Calendar Optimization toggle
The calendar will immediately return to the original display and loading behavior.
