👤 Technician Type
A technician type controls what kind of work a technician can perform within Inspect Point. This setting determines the technician’s available workflows and access within the platform.
Available technician types include:
- Full – Access to both inspection and service workflows
- Service only – Access limited to service-related work orders and activities
- Schedule only – Access limited to scheduling functionality without inspection or service work access
Account admins can update a technician's type directly from the technician profile in the Inspect Point backend. This allows you to adjust access and functionality without needing to recreate the technician.
đź”§ How to Change a Technician Type
- Navigate to: Backend → Settings → Technicians
- Select the technician you want to update
- On the Edit Technician page, locate the Technician Type section
- Choose the desired option:
- Full – Full access to inspections and service functionality
- Service only – Limited to service-related work
- Schedule only – Limited to scheduling functionality
- Click Save
⚠️ License Requirements
When updating a technician type, Inspect Point will automatically check your available licenses.
- If your account has sufficient licenses, the change will save immediately
- If not, you'll see an error message indicating that additional licenses are required
If you need to upgrade your licenses, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Once saved:
- The technician type is updated immediately
- The change is reflected throughout the system
- The technician will have access based on their new role
