There are two ways to reset a technician’s password in Inspect Point—either through the backend as an admin or directly from the mobile app.
💡 Note: A technician must have an email address associated with their profile to reset their password via the mobile app. For more on technician setup, refer to the Technician Setup article.
Option 1: Reset from the Backend
Admin users can reset technician passwords at any time without needing the current password.
To do this:
- Navigate to Settings > User Management > Technicians
- Click on the technician’s username
- At the top of the Technician Detail screen, select Change Password
- You will be directed to a new screen to create and confirm a new password
- Click Save to complete the reset
Option 2: Reset from the Mobile App
If an email address is associated with the technician’s profile, they can reset their own password in the field. They will need access to a web browser and their inbox.
- Open the Inspect Point mobile app
- Tap Forgot Password? on the login screen
- You will be redirected to a webpage where you will enter the email address linked to the technician account
- If the email address is recognized, an email with the subject Reset Password Instructions will be sent from no-reply@inspectpoint.com
- Click the link in the email to create a new password
