Overview: Individual Question Configurations
AI Inspection Assistant Individual Question Configurations allow you to control how the AI Inspection Assistant evaluates specific inspection questions.
In some cases, certain questions may not be relevant for AI review. These settings give you the flexibility to override AI behavior at the individual question level.
⚙️ How It Works
When the AI Inspection Assistant is enabled, an Inspection Assistant section will appear on supported inspection question edit screens.
From this section, you can configure how AI treats that specific question during inspection review.
🔗 Feature Overview: AI Inspection Assistant
✅ Availability
- Only visible when Inspection Assistant is enabled
- Available for System Inspection Questions (V2 only)
- Not available for:
- V1 Sprinkler questions
- Custom inspections
- Equipment questions (see related articles)
💡 If you are using V1 Sprinkler questions and want to switch to V2, please reach out to our Support team, support@inspectpoint.com.
🛠️ Configuration Options
All options are disabled by default.
Mark as Critical
- Flags the question as High Impact when left unanswered
- Use for questions that should always be prioritized during review
Exclude from Unanswered Question Flags
- Prevents the AI from flagging this question if it is left unanswered
- Useful for optional or non-critical questions
Exclude from Missing Deficiency Photo Flags
- Prevents AI from flagging missing photos for deficiencies tied to this question
- Useful when photos are not required for certain deficiencies
📍 How to Edit Individual Question Configurations
Navigate to Backend → Settings → Inspection Questions
- Select the appropriate inspection question type
- Options vary based on what inspection types are enabled in your instance
- Locate the question(s) you want to update
- Click Edit
- Scroll to the Inspection Assistant section
- Select your desired configuration(s)
- Click Save
Repeat as needed for additional questions.
💡 When to Use Individual Question Configurations
These settings are especially helpful when you don't want to exclude an entire asset type from AI flagging.
For example, instead of disabling Unanswered Question flags globally for an entire asset in Advanced Settings, you can exclude only specific questions that are optional or not relevant.
This allows you to fine-tune AI behavior without reducing visibility across the rest of the inspection.
👉 For broader control across asset types, see AI Inspection Assistant – Advanced Settings
🚫 When This Section Is Not Visible
The Inspection Assistant section will not appear if:
- Inspection Assistant is not enabled for your account
- The question type is not supported (e.g., V1, Equipment, Custom inspections)
✅ Best Practices
-
Technicians Must Log Out & Back In
- After making updates, technicians must log out and back into the mobile app for changes to sync.
-
Applies to Future Work Only
- These configurations only impact inspections that have not been started.
-
Align with Your Team First
- Since these changes affect both technicians and office users, it's best to align internally before making updates
- Communicate updates clearly to your team.
- Avoid multiple users changing configurations independently.
