⏰ Multi-Timezone Management Overview
As your organization grows, scheduling across multiple timezones becomes increasingly complex. Many Inspect Point customers operate in more than one region, with office staff, technicians, and customers all working in different timezones.
To help eliminate confusion and prevent scheduling errors, Inspect Point supports multi-timezone scheduling and visibility in the backend. This allows teams to intentionally schedule visits in the correct local time—without needing to calculate time differences or guess which timezone is being used.
When Timezone Management is enabled for your account, Inspect Point automatically assigns a timezone to all existing buildings based on their location.
This ensures that every building has a defined timezone and that visits are scheduled using the building’s local time going forward.
🌍 Why This Matters
Without clear timezone controls, it’s easy for visits to be scheduled at the wrong time—especially when:
- Office staff schedule visits for buildings in another region
- Dispatchers and customers are in different timezones
- Multiple teams work across state or country lines
- Scheduling happens live on the phone with a customer
Timezone Management ensures that the time you select is the time the visit occurs—where the building is located.
🧭 Multi-Timezone Support
When enabled, Inspect Point allows your team to:
- Add multiple timezones to your account
- Schedule visits in a specific timezone
- View calendars in different timezones for clarity
- Automatically align visits with a building’s local timezone
- Reduce scheduling mistakes caused by timezone assumptions
This feature is especially useful for organizations that manage multiple branches, regions, or service territories.
⚙️ Enabling Multi-Timezones
If your team schedules across more than one timezone and would benefit from this feature, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM). Once enabled, additional timezone options will become available throughout the backend.
🔓 What Becomes Available Once Enabled
After Timezone Management is enabled, your team can:
- Define which timezones are relevant to your organization
- Set default timezones for individual backend users
- Schedule inspections and work orders in the correct local timezone
- View calendars and dispatch boards in different timezones
- Automatically associate buildings with their local timezone
Each of these areas is covered in more detail in the related how-to articles linked below.
