Inspect Point allows you to intentionally schedule visits in a specific timezone, ensuring visits occur at the correct local time—regardless of where the scheduler or technician is located.
This applies to both Inspections and Work Orders and is driven primarily by the building’s default timezone.
⚠️ Important: Multi-Timezone Management must be enabled
🔗 Feature Overview: Multi-Timezone Management
🧭 How Scheduling Timezones Work
When scheduling a visit, Inspect Point uses the following logic:
-
Building Default Timezone
- This is the primary timezone used for scheduling
-
Tenant Default Timezone
- Used only if the building does not have a timezone set (for example, due to an incomplete or invalid address)
-
User Timezone
- Affects how the visit appears on the user’s calendar, but does not control how the visit is scheduled
The timezone selected during scheduling is saved directly on the visit.

🔗 How to Setup Additional Timezones
🔗 How to Set a Default Timezone for a Backend User
🧾 Scheduling an Inspection in a Specific Timezone
When creating an inspection:
- The visit defaults to the building’s default timezone
- If the building does not have a timezone set, it falls back to the tenant’s default timezone
- You can change the timezone directly from the scheduling screen before saving
- The timezone can still be changed per visit if needed
Once saved, the inspection is scheduled in the selected timezone.
🧰 Scheduling Visits from a Work Order
Work Orders follow similar logic:
- The Work Order inherits the building’s default timezone
- If the building does not have a timezone set, the tenant’s default timezone is used
- Any visits scheduled from the Work Order inherit the Work Order’s timezone
- The timezone can still be changed per visit if needed
This ensures consistency when scheduling multiple visits from a single Work Order.
🧠 Example Scenario
- Tenant Default Timezone: Eastern
- Building Timezone (Black Bean Burger – NY): Eastern
- Backend User Timezone: Pacific
A backend user in Pacific Time creates a new inspection for the Black Bean Burger building and schedules it for 2:00PM.
What happens next:
- The visit is saved as 2:00PM Pacific
- On the scheduler’s calendar, the visit appears at 2:00PM Pacific
- The technician in New York sees the same visit on their device at 5:00AM Eastern
This ensures:
- The scheduler works in their preferred timezone
- The visit still occurs at the correct local time for the building and technician
✏️ Editing the Timezone After a Visit is Created
You can change the timezone of an existing visit at any time. To edit the timezone:
Open the visit from the Calendar or Schedule & Dispatch tab
Locate the Timezone dropdown in the scheduling details
Select the desired timezone
Click Save
⚠️ Important: Changing the timezone does not change the scheduled time of the visit, it will just change the timezone. For example, if the visit is scheduled for 2PM Pacific and the timezone is changed to Eastern, the visit will now be scheduled for 2PM EST.
