🔥 Overview: Importing Fire Extinguishers
You have the option to import fire extinguishers in bulk rather than adding them manually to a building. To do so, an extinguisher group must first be created within the building. Once the group is added, you can import data directly into that group.
You can import using your own file or the sample template provided at the end of this article.
This article walks through how to import fire extinguishers at the building-level.
🚨 Important:
-
Date Format: All date fields must be formatted as: YYYY-MM-DD (Example:
2026-01-01)- Before getting started, it is very important to review the required date format for any date fields in your file.
- Incorrect formats will result in invalid rows during import.

🔗 Step 4: Map Your Columns
Match the columns in your file to the fields in Inspect Point. The system will attempt to auto-map fields, but you should always review them carefully.
Use the dropdown to select which column from your file should map to each template field. Naming may differ between your file and Inspect Point, so be sure to confirm each mapping is correct.
Once all fields are mapped correctly, click Next.
Example:
If your file has a column called 6 Year, you may need to map it to the Last Six Year Maintenance field in Inspect Point.
Helpful Tips:
- Use the Bulk Actions menu to:
- Reset all mappings
- Auto-map all columns (recommended to review after)
