đź“‘ Overview
The Customer Portal allows your customers to view published documents—inspection reports, service reports, invoices, proposals, and building attachments—all from one centralized location. This article explains the publishing settings and the differences between manual and automatic publishing.
đź”— How to Enable the Customer PortalÂ
⚠️ Important:Â
- If the Customer Portal is not enabled, you will not see any publishing options.Â
- If the Automatic Publish settings are enabled, you will not see any publishing options for that particular document type.Â
📤 Publishing Settings for Document Types
Before you can publish anything, the Customer Portal must be fully enabled. Once enabled, you’ll see publishing settings for the following document types:
- Inspection & Service Reports
- Proposals
- Invoices
- Building Attachments
⚙️ Publishing OptionsÂ
There are two ways to publish documents to the Customer Portal Manual vs. Automatic Publishing
- By default, all documents require manual publishing
- You can turn on automatic publishing individually for each document type in the Customer Portal Settings
⚡ Automatic Publishing
You can control which document types are automatically published to the Customer Portal from the backend.
To update these settings:
- Go to Backend Settings
- Under the Company section, select Customer Portal Settings
- Scroll to the Advanced section
- Locate the publishing options for each document type (Inspection Reports, Service Reports, Proposals, and Invoices)
- Select “Publish all (document type) to the Customer Portal
- Click Save to apply your changes
When automatic publishing is turned on for a document type, the document will be sent to the Customer Portal as soon as it is created.
Example:Â
If automatic publishing is enabled for Inspection Reports, every generated inspection report will appear in the portal automatically.
If your account also has Auto-Generate Inspection Reports enabled, a report will generate—and immediately publish to the portal—any time an inspection is submitted, even if the inspection is submitted prematurely.
📝 Manually Publishing Documents
If automatic publishing is not enabled for a document type, those documents must be published to the Customer Portal manually. Each document type—Inspection Reports, Service Reports, Proposals, Invoices, and Attachments—can be published individually or in bulk.
