🧑💻 Logging In as a Customer
Backend Users can temporarily log in as a customer to preview exactly what the customer sees in the Customer Portal. Follow the steps below to enable access and use the Login as Customer option.
Users can only preview contacts that are already enrolled in the Customer Portal. If they are not enrolled, or invited, you will not be able to log in as the contact.
⚙️ Enable Customer Portal Access for a Backend User
- Navigate to Backend Settings.
- Select Backend Users under the User Management section.
- Click on the backend user’s email.
- Under the Permissions section, toggle Access Customer Portal as Customer.
- Click Update to save your changes.
📇 Open the Customer’s Portal View
- Go to the Contacts tab.
- Use the Customer Portal Status filter and select Enrolled.
- Click on any enrolled contact’s Name.
- In the upper-right corner, click Login as Customer.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear letting you know you’ll be temporarily logged out of the backend.
- Click OK to proceed.
🌐 View the Customer Portal
You will now be logged into the Customer Portal, viewing the portal exactly how that specific customer sees it.
↩️ Return to the Backend
At the top of the Customer Portal, click Return to Admin to be taken right back to the Contacts tab in the backend.
