With our QuickBooks Online (QBO) integration, you can link an account, OR building, in Inspect Point to a customer in QBO.
There are three ways to link a building or an account in Inspect Point to a customer in QBO:
- If you would like to link an existing QBO customer to a building or account that doesn’t yet exist in Inspect Point, you can import QBO customers to create an associated building/account in Inspect Point.
- If you would like to link an existing Inspect Point building or account to an existing QBO customer, you can search for that customer on the building or account page and assign it to the Inspect Point building/account.
- If you would like to link an existing Inspect Point building or account to a new QBO customer, you can create that QBO customer from the Inspect Point building or account page.
Importing QBO Customers Into Inspect Point
You can import an existing QBO customer to Inspect Point on either the “Accounts” or “Buildings” page.
Here, press “Import from Quickbooks.” This will open a list of your QBO customers. (Note, you will only see QBO customers that have not yet been imported into Inspect Point.) Select the customer(s) you would like to import, and then press “Import from QBO.”
Customers that are imported from QBO will then appear with the QBO icon next to their name.
Linking a Building or an Account
To link an Inspect Point building or account to a QBO customer, navigate to the page for that building/account. In the table at the top of the page, click "Link QBO Customer".
This will open a pop-up in which you can search for an existing customer in QBO, or add a new customer.
To link the account to an existing customer, press “Select a customer” and begin typing the customer’s name. Then, click the name of the customer once it appears.
To create a new customer within QBO, click the Create in Quickbooks link. This will create a customer record in QBO that uses the same information as the building/account in Inspect Point.
Once an account is linked, in the “QBO Status” field you will see the QBO customer ID. You can click this to open that customer’s record in QBO.
Unlinking a Building or Account
You will also see an Unlink link that you can press to unlink the records.
