When the Inspect Point + QuickBooks Online integration is enabled, invoices created in Inspect Point can be synced to QBO.
Under normal circumstances, once an invoice is marked as Paid in QBO, a webhook automatically updates the payment status in Inspect Point. However, there may be rare instances where QBO does not fire the webhook, and the payment status in Inspect Point remains Due or Overdue, even though it was paid in QBO.
To resolve this, Inspect Point provides a manual sync option to pull in the payment details from QBO.
How to Manually Sync Payment from QBO
- Navigate to the Invoice
In Inspect Point, go to the Invoices tab and locate the invoice in question. You can search by customer name, invoice number, or status. Additionally, use the Filter by Status option to view open invoices. - Click the Invoice ID
Click the Invoice ID number to open the Invoice Detail screen. - Select “Sync QBO Payments”
In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, click the Sync QBO Payments button. - Verify the Status
Once the sync is complete, the invoice status should update to reflect the payment from QuickBooks Online. The balance will adjust accordingly.
When to Use the Manual Sync
Use this option if:
- You've marked an invoice as Paid in QuickBooks Online
- The invoice in Inspect Point is still showing as Due, Overdue, or has an outstanding balance
Tips
- This sync does not overwrite the invoice—it simply pulls the payment status from QBO.
- If the invoice still shows an incorrect status after syncing, ensure that:
- The invoice was correctly marked as Paid in QBO
- The invoice number matches between QBO and Inspect Point
- Your integration is still connected and active
