How to Clone Inspection Items in the Field

Inspect Point allows technicians to quickly clone inspection items directly in the field. This is useful when multiple similar items need to be added without starting from scratch each time.

There are two ways to clone items in the mobile app: Swipe and Hold. Both methods are outlined below.

👆 Swipe Method

The most common way to clone items is by swiping on the item to reveal the clone option.

This method applies to:

• Valves
• Alarm Devices
• Cylinders
• Control Panels
• Additional Power Supplies
• Fire Extinguishers
• Exit Signs / E-Lights

To clone using the swipe method:

1. Navigate to the item you want to clone
2. Swipe left on the item
3. Tap the blue Clone button
4. Enter the number of copies
5. Tap Clone

You'll be returned to the list, where the newly created items will now appear.

💡 The process is the same for all supported items. The example above uses a cylinder, but the steps apply across item types.

✋ Hold Method

Some items are currently cloned by pressing and holding instead of swiping.

This method applies to:

• Equipment
• Fire Doors

To clone using the hold method:

1. Navigate to the appropriate section (e.g., Equipment)
2. Locate the item you want to clone
3. Press and hold on the item until the pop-up appears
4. Enter the number of copies
5. Tap Clone

The cloned items will appear in the list.

⚠️ Note: Inspect Point is transitioning to the swipe method for all items. For now, Equipment and Fire Doors still use the hold method.

🚫 Items That Cannot Be Cloned

The following items cannot currently be cloned:

• Fire Hoses
• Hose Valves
