🧩 Setting Up the Simpro Integration
In order to set up Simpro integration the backend user must complete the initial setup to connect the two systems.
To setup the integration:
- From the Inspect Point backend, navigate to Settings → Integrations → Simpro.
- Enter information into the Settings → Integrations → Simpro page as follows:
Simpro API URL: This is the URL for the Simpro instance to be synchronized.
Simpro Employee ID: The integration process will create messages on the Simpro→Job “Timeline”, this Simpro Employee ID is used to populate those messages.
Simpro Company ID: If the account has more than one company, a dropdown will appear to choose which to sync with. If the account only has one company (most cases), this will not appear.
⚙️ Simpro Integration Setting Values
The Simpro Integration Settings page will display all available options for how the integration behaves — including where reports are attached, how quotes are created, and what data syncs between systems.
- Attachments: The user can decide if they want the resulting inspection report to be attached to the original Simpro Job, the Simpro Site (Building), as well as the Simpro Quote
- Ignore Simpro Technicians: Requires at least one technician on the Simpro Job who exists in Inspect Point. Any unrecognized technicians are ignored.
-
Create Simpro Quote: The user can optionally have a Quote created If deficiencies were found during the inspection. Optionally, the inspection report can also be attached to the quote
- Quote Type: The user can choose the “Quote Type” to use when creating a Simpro Quote
- Quote Status: The user can choose the “Quote Status” to use when creating a Simpro Quote
- Simpro Job Codes to Sync: The user can select which specific Simpro Job Codes are allowed to be synchronized with Inspect Point. By default the standard “in progress” Simpro Job codes are selected.
- Inspect Point Job Pending Tag: The integration uses “tags” on the Simpro job to identify which jobs to synchronize. This field indicates which tag is used to find jobs ready to be synchronized.
- Inspect Point Job In Progress Tag: Indicates the linked inspection is currently being worked on in Inspect Point
- Inspect Point Job Complete Tag: This is what the Simpro job tag will be changed to upon completion of the Inspect Point inspection.
- Inspect Point Job Error Tags: These are the tags that are used to provide information back to Simpro when the integration process encounters an error. Note, additional details are provided in the Job→Timeline
đź”–Â Job Tags
The following Simpro Job tags are used with the integration:
- Inspect Point Job Pending: Indicates this job will be sent to Inspect Point to perform an inspection
- Inspect Point Job In Progress: Indicates the linked inspection is currently being worked on in Inspect Point
- Inspect Point Job Complete: Indicates the Inspect Point inspection status = “Completed”
-
Inspect Point Job Error Tags:
- Missing Technician: Indicates that a technician needs to be assigned before the sync can happen
- Sync Error: Indicates an error with the sync process, see Job Timeline for details
- Technical Issue: Indicates a technical error, see Job Timeline for
đź’ľ Saving Your Changes
All changes made to the Simpro Integration settings must be saved before they take effect.
When you’re finished configuring your preferences, click Save in the upper-right corner of the screen.
👥 Linking Technicians
Once the integration is enabled, you’ll need to connect your technicians between Simpro and Inspect Point.
Go to Settings → User Management → Technicians.
Click into each technician’s name, then add their Simpro Employee ID to the External ID field in Inspect Point.
The Simpro Employee ID must exactly match the technician’s External ID in Inspect Point.
If not configured, an error will appear in the Job Timeline.
The first technician listed in Simpro becomes the Assigned Technician in Inspect Point.
