Please follow instructions below to set up your tax rates and tax groups:
1. Tax Rate Configuration
Under Settings → Price Book, find “Tax Rates”. You can configure either a Tax Rate or a Tax Group. A Tax Group is simply a grouping of multiple Tax Rates.

2. Configuring the Default Tax Rate in Company Settings, Accounts and Buildings
After you have configured your Tax Rates and Tax Groups you can then apply them to Company Settings, Accounts and Buildings. This works similarly to the legacy tax configuration where the Company Tax setting is the default for Accounts and Buildings, however, you can override the default tax rate on Accounts or Buildings and a Building will use the Tax Rate configured on its parent Account, if a parent has been configured, otherwise it will use the Company Default.

3. Proposal Tax Rate
By default the proposal will use the Building Tax Rate, however, you can change this when editing the proposal.
4. View Tax Rate Details
There is a link “See Tax Details” that will show the details of the Tax Group or Tax Rate
5. Proposal Sent to Customer
When customers receive a PDF or e-mail they will see either a single Tax Rate, if that is what was configured or they will see the list of all tax rates and the total tax if a Tax Group is being used. The image below is showing the Tax Group display.
6. Invoice Tax Rate
Invoices assume the tax rate for the Building or Account for which they are created and cannot be changed via the edit invoice page.
