Before hitting the road to your first inspection or service visit, there are a few key steps to take in the Inspect Point mobile app to ensure you're fully equipped and prepared for the day.
In this article, we’ll walk through:
- Syncing visits to your device
- Reviewing your daily schedule
- Checking visit details and technician notes
- Using Map and Calendar views
- Time entry tracking
🔄 Syncing Visits to Your Device
Start your day by opening the Inspect Point app and logging in. Once signed in:
- Swipe down on the Home, Schedule, or Jobs screen to "pull-to-refresh".
- This will sync your schedule and display any newly assigned inspections or service visits.
- If your schedule changes during the day, just pull to refresh again to update new jobs to your device
📌 Tip: Always sync your device at the beginning of the day and periodically throughout to ensure you have the latest job assignments.
📅 Reviewing Your Schedule
Once your schedule is synced:
- Take a moment to review the list of visits assigned to you
- Tap on each visit to open the Visit Detail Screen
- Here you’ll find:
- Address and contact information
- Building notes
- Technician instructions (e.g., "Ladder required")
🧰 Reviewing visit notes first thing helps you prepare anything you need for the day.
🗂️ Viewing Options
Technicians can view their schedule in multiple formats, with the default being a scrollable list view. The schedule list view displays only jobs scheduled for today and up to 14 days in the future. Technicians can access past visits by tapping on ‘past visits’ and searching for a specific visit.
In addition to the default List View, you can switch to Map View or Calendar View to better visualize your day.
- Calendar View (opens an iframe of the technician portal).
- Map View (opens the existing map view).
You can access these options by tapping on ‘List view’ on the top right hand corner of the schedule page.
🗺 Map View
- Tap the List View and select Map View
- Red pins will display the location of each scheduled job
- Tap a pin to open directions in Apple Maps
- Tap Done to return to the schedule
Important: In order to open Apple Maps from the Calendar View, you must have your location enabled for the Inspect Point application AND the device must have a data or wifi connection.
- If you are unsure, or need to enable location services, go to your devices Settings > Apps > Inspection Point > Enable the Location Toggle
📆 Calendar View (via Technician Portal)
- Selecting Calendar View redirects you to the Technician Portal
- View your schedule by day, week, or month
- If your instance has permission, technicians can drag and drop visits or tap to reschedule
📍 Example: If inspections are batch assigned at the start of the month, and you’re responsible for coordinating directly with the customer, you can rearrange visits to fit your availability.
⏱️ Time Entry
Time can be tracked from either the Technician Portal or directly in the Inspect Point mobile app.
Important: Your time entry rates must be configured by an admin in the backend before time tracking is available.
