Overview of the Inspect Point QuickBooks Desktop Integration
Inspect Point offers an integration with any version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) for Windows that utilizes the QuickBooks Web Connector, and is currently supported by Intuit. See this article from Quickbooks on what is being supported.
The main features offered within the integration are:
- Importing QBD customers into Inspect Point as accounts or building
- Linking existing Inspect Point accounts/buildings to QBD customers
- Importing QBD “Items” for use on Inspect Point proposals, work orders and invoices
- Syncing Inspect Point invoices, and payments into QuickBooks Desktop
Important Information to Know Before Getting Started
The integration set-up requires the Inspect Point customer to download a file from Inspect Point and install it within QuickBooks Desktop, using QuickBooks Web Connector.
We also recommend that you update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest version, and back up your company file, before getting started with the implementation process.
As QuickBooks Desktop is an on-premise solution, there can be several-minute delays when syncing information. In addition, in order to import customers and items into Inspect Point, and sync invoices back to QuickBooks Desktop, your QuickBooks Desktop application must be open and actively running. (If the application is not open, the invoices will queue and sync when it is reopened.)
