This article provides an overview of Default Answers in Inspect Point — how they work, the different types available, the information associated with each type, and what to do if you'd like to enable any of the answers.
What are Default Answers?
Default Answers are preset responses that automatically populate for inspection questions. By default, all questions are blank and are to be answered by technicians while completing inspections.
This functionality is designed to save time while preserving technician oversight.
Default Answer Types
We know that not every inspection type is the same which is why there are several Default Answers types available within Inspect Point.
Each type is associated with particular inspection sections and question formats. You can choose to configure some, all, or none of the default answer types, but the functionality and behavior of each type are fixed and cannot be altered.

Enabling and Updating Default Answers
Default Answers can only be enabled by a member of the Inspect Point team.
If you’d like to enable or adjust Default Answers for your instance, contact your Customer Success Manager and they can make the change on your behalf.
🔒 This setting is applied at the instance level — not per technician.
Once Default Answers have been enabled or edited, technicians must log out of the mobile app and log back in to see the changes.
These updates will apply to newly scheduled inspections going forward and will not affect any inspections already in progress.
