You can add contacts in Inspect Point from either the Contacts tab on the navigation bar or directly from a Building’s Contacts tab.
👤 How to Add a Contact

Start by Clicking "+ New Contact"
- This can be done from either the Contacts tab or from a Building's Contacts tab.

Fill in Contact Information
- You’ll land on the “New Contact” screen, which includes general contact fields.
- While most fields are optional, except Name, we recommend filling out the following:
- Name - Used to identify the contact throughout the system
- Email - This is essential — proposals, reports, and other communications rely on it
- Phone - Use cell or work number for scheduling/follow-up - Technicians can see
- Notes - Add internal notes, such as preferred contact method

Assign to an Account (Optional)
- Scroll down to the Account Information section:
- Use the dropdown to assign the contact to a customer account.
- Contacts can only be assigned to one account.
- You can skip this step and assign the contact later from the Account screen if needed.
- Scroll down to the Account Information section:

Set Contact Roles (Optional)
- Roles set at the Account level are automatically inherited by all Buildings linked to that account.
- Roles set only at the building level apply to that specific building and do not affect other buildings under the same account.

Customer Portal Invitation & Access
- This info is based on the configurations in your Customer Portal Settings.
- If you do not have Customer Portal enabled, you will not see this section.

Click “Create”
- Once you've completed the contact setup, click Create
- You'll be redirected to the Contact Detail screen where you can:
- Edit general information
- Add building associations
- Manage roles and portal access
Click Save when finished with all of your selections.
