📋 Overview
If your account was created before extended emergency light attributes were introduced, you may only see a limited set of emergency light inspection questions. To help identify this, Inspect Point now displays a notification on the Emergency Light Questions page when extended attributes are not enabled.
Account admins can enable extended attributes directly from this page without contacting Inspect Point Support.
⚙️ Enable Extended Emergency Light Attributes
- Navigate to Backend Settings → Inspection Questions → Emergency Light Questions.
- If your account is using the legacy question set, you'll see an Extended Question Set Not Enabled notification.
- Click Enable Extended Attributes.
- Once enabled, the page will refresh and display a confirmation message.
- The full emergency light question set will now be available for management.
⚠️ Important Notes
- Users will only see this message in their settings if their instance is using the legacy question set. You will not see this message if you already have it enabled.
- Technicians must log out and log back into the mobile app to receive the updated question set.
- Changes will only apply to scheduled inspections that have not yet been started. Inspections already in progress will continue using the question set that was synced when the inspection began.

Enabling extended emergency light attributes unlocks the complete emergency light inspection question library, allowing your organization to view, manage, and use the full set of available emergency light inspection questions and reporting fields.

Who can enable extended emergency light attributes?
Users with Account Admin permissions can enable the feature directly from the Emergency Light Questions page.
Do I need to contact Support?
No. The feature can be enabled through self-service directly within Inspect Point.
Will enabling this affect existing inspections?
No. Inspections that have already been started will not be updated. The changes will apply to future scheduled inspections after technicians resync the mobile app.
Can this be disabled after it is enabled?
Once extended emergency light attributes are enabled, the full question set remains active for your account. However, you can deactivate any questions you do not want asked.
