Answer: Open the App Store, search for Inspect Point, and select Get next to the app icon. Once the download is complete, open the app and log in using your technician credentials.
Question: How do I log into the mobile app?
Answer: Open the Inspect Point app and enter your login credentials:
- Subdomain
- Username
- Password
Select Login to open the app.
If you do not know your login information, contact your company administrator.
If you need to reset your password, select Forgot Password and follow the prompts. If you are unable to access the associated email address, contact your administrator to reset your password.
Question: What is my subdomain?
Answer: Contact your company administrator for this information. If you are the administrator, the subdomain is the first part of your company’s Inspect Point backend web address.
Example: If your backend URL is acme.inspectpoint.com, your subdomain is acme.
If you cannot locate it, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Question: Can I log into the app on both my iPhone and iPad?
Answer: No. You can only be logged into the Inspect Point mobile app on one device at a time.
It is important to note that inspections and work orders are stored locally on the device where they were started. For example, if you start an inspection on your iPhone, log out, and then log into your iPad, the started inspection will not appear on the second device. You will see any job that has not been started.
Question: Do I need a data plan to use the mobile app?
Answer: A cellular data plan is not required; however, internet access is required for certain actions, including:
- Logging into the app
- Syncing inspections and work orders to your device
- Submitting inspections and work orders
- Live sync during multi-technician alarm inspections
Inspections and Work Orders can be completed offline once they have been synced to your device.
Question: How can I tell if I am connected to the internet?
Answer: Within the mobile app, tap your Technician icon. Next to Settings, you will see one of the following connection statuses:
- Connected (Wi-Fi)
- Connected (Cellular)
- No Internet
Question: What version of the mobile app am I using?
Answer: Tap your Technician icon and locate the About Inspect Point section. The app version number will be displayed there.
Example: Version 10.3.1 (1)
This information may be requested by Inspect Point Support when troubleshooting.
Question: Can I print inspection reports from the mobile app?
Answer: Yes. Generated inspection reports can be printed from the mobile app using a third-party Bluetooth printer. Printer setup and configuration depend on the Bluetooth printer manufacturer.
Inspect Point Support does not troubleshoot Bluetooth printer hardware issues. If printing problems occur, contact the printer manufacturer’s support team.
Question: How do I turn off automatic app updates on my iOS device?
Answer: To disable automatic app updates on an iPhone or iPad:
- Open Device Settings
- Select Apps
- Tap App Store
- Toggle App Updates off under the Automatic Downloads section
This allows updates to be installed manually and helps prevent unexpected background updates or data usage.
