Once the Multi-Tech feature is enabled, you can schedule more than one technician for the same inspection directly from the backend. This is helpful for for large inspections or when different specialties are needed.
🧩 Before You Schedule
Inspections are created as normal — whether it’s a one-time inspection or part of an Inspection Series.
Once the inspection is created, you will create additional visits and assign one or more secondary technicians.
You can do this immediately after creating the inspection, or return to the Inspection Detail screen later to add additional visits as needed.
📍 Steps to Schedule Multiple Technicians
-
Starting from the Inspection Detail Screen
- Whether you just created the inspection or navigated to it later, this is where you’ll create the additional visits.
- How to setup an inspection series
-
Assign the First Technician (Lead Tech)
- If you haven’t done so already, assign the inspection as you normally would. The first technician assigned is considered the Lead Technician.
- Any additional technicians added afterward are considered Secondary Technicians.
-
For the technicians completing Multi-Tech inspections, this will matters when submitting the inspection.
-
Add Additional Visits
- Scroll to the Visit section and select + New Visit.
- Choose the technician, add scheduling details, visit notes, and priority if needed.
-
Any visit note added here, is visible only to the technician you’re assigning. If you want information for both technicians to see, use Tech Instructions.
-
Update the Inspection Status
- If not already set, change the status to Scheduled, then click Update.
-
If the inspection is part of a series, select Update This Inspection Only.
-
Once ScheduledÂ
- Both visits (for each technician) will appear under the Visits section on the Inspection Detail Screen, the Calendar, and Schedule & Dispatch tabs.
-
All assigned technicians will receive the same inspection on their iOS devices.
đź’¬ Visit Notes vs. Technician Instructions
It’s important to understand how Visit Notes and Technician Instructions work when using the Multi-Tech feature. Both serve different purposes and appear in different places for technicians in the field.
To avoid confusion or duplicate work:
- Use Technician Instructions to outline information all technicians should know (for example, which systems or floors each person is responsible for).
- Use Visit Notes for individual guidance meant for a specific technician.
Even if roles seem obvious, documenting responsibilities helps prevent overlap and reduces time spent on review later.
🗒️ Visit Notes
Visit Notes appear on the Visit Detail screen in the mobile app — visible only to the technician assigned to that specific visit.
Use Visit Notes to leave details meant for one technician only (for example, the Lead Tech).
Adding Visit Notes:
- When creating additional visits from the Inspection Detail screen.
- From the Calendar or Schedule & Dispatch tabs by selecting a visit.
- A modal will open showing visit details, where you can Add Visit Notes or edit existing ones.
đź“‹ Technician Instructions
Technician Notes appear on the Visit Detail screen in the mobile app — visible to all assigned technicians.
Use Technician Instructions to share details that apply to everyone assigned to the inspection.
Adding Technician Instructions:
- When creating a new inspection or inspection series.
- After an inspection is created, from the Inspection Detail screen.
âś… What Happens Next
Once scheduled, all assigned technicians will see the assigned inspection and any technician instructions. If visit notes were added, the corresponding technician will see the visit note under the instructions starting with Visit on Date/Of/Inspection.Â
Technicians will complete their assigned portions independently. Once completed, they will submit the inspection to the backend, which will print on a single inspection report.Â
