Overview of Inspect Point Fleet Management
Inspect Point Fleet Management is designed to enhance operational efficiency by integrating fleet management capabilities directly into your Inspect Point platform. Through a partnership with Azuga, Inspect Point Fleet now provides users with real-time tracking of vehicles, geofencing capabilities, and detailed vehicle information, all from within the Inspect Point interface. This product allows you to gain better control and visibility over your business, ultimately improving productivity and reducing operational costs.
Why Fleet Management Matters
Fleet management is crucial for businesses that rely on vehicle-based operations. Proper fleet management helps in:
- Technician and Vehicle Assignment: Easily assign technicians to vehicles as either drivers or passengers and view these assignments on the map.
- Tracking Vehicle Locations: View the current location of vehicles assigned to technicians on the map. Vehicles are represented by icons that display additional information when clicked.
- Monitoring Vehicle Health: Get alerts if there are any issues with your vehicles.
- Geofencing alerts: Automatic creation of geofences around each building visited by technicians. If a vehicle crosses these geofences, an event is recorded in Inspect Point and displayed on the associated Inspection or Work Order.
- Managing Time Efficiency: Real-time data and insights help managers make informed decisions to optimize routes, reduce fuel consumption, and increase productivity.
- Improving Safety and Compliance: Monitor vehicle movement, receive alerts when vehicles enter or exit designated areas, and ensure adherence to company policies.
Before Inspect Point Fleet Management, there was no built-in solution within Inspect Point to manage these aspects. Now, you can take full control of your fleet operations and inspections, improving your business's overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Inspect Point Fleet Driver Profile Linking
Technicians can be assigned to vehicles as drivers or passengers. These assignments are visible on the map, providing clear insights into who is responsible for each vehicle.
- An Inspect Point Fleet or Azuga Vehicle Profile is configured with a tracking device ID. The tracking device shows where the vehicle is and a variety of information such as if the engine is on, hard stops, speeding, hard. turns, engine error codes etc. The Vehicle Profile is then associated to a Driver Profile.
- When configuring the Inspect Point Technician profile there is a new section called Inspect Point Fleet Profile. There are two fields that can be configured:
- a Fleet Driver Profile: This is a list of driver profiles that come from Inspect Point Fleet or Azuga
- Passenger in Vehicle: This is used to indicate when a technician is a passenger (e.g. for multi-tech inspections) and allows us to show the passenger tech associated to a vehicle. Note: We do not currently support passenger dongles in Inspect Point.
