Formerly, Inspect Point offered two separate areas for price book items: "proposed corrections" which were typically used for services related to deficiency repair, and "materials," used for materials required for service jobs.
Inspect Point has since consolidated these areas into a single "Materials & Services" area, which allows you to add items in either a "service" or "material" category. Items in the "material" category include additional fields that are relevant to materials, such as part no., model no. and manufacturer.
Ultimately, we recommend customers build out their price book lists in this "Materials & Services" product area, as this is the area we will continue to enhance and build upon. 'Legacy' materials will eventually be retired to reduce confusion and streamline the technician and office experience.
We built an automated process to transfer your materials into this new Materials & Services list.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS: Once you complete the transfer, existing materials will be imported into Proposed Corrections (which will be upgraded into a new "Materials & Services" feature). This means that materials will no longer be managed here and will appear in the Proposed Corrections list. In addition, you will no longer have access to the Materials Used / Needed feature. If this is integral to your workflow, we recommend holding off on transferring materials for now and reaching out to your Customer Success Manager for a personalized recommendation on how to proceed.
Here are the steps to complete the transfer:
- Navigate to your Materials page, in Settings.
- Click the "Transfer" button.
- Decide if you want to transfer inactive materials (check the "Include Inactive Materials" checkbox if so). Note this is a one-time transfer; you will not have the opportunity to come back and transfer inactive materials if you decline to do so at this time.
- Once the transfer is complete, review the new list in Materials & Services.
